Today In Class…

February 23rd, 2008

Today we talked about why art is important. The class came up with four reasons, reflection, communication, expression, and thinking. Art isn’t only paintings and sculptures, it can be writing, music, dance and other things. Art is a good way to communicate with people because it reaches many people. It can talk about problems in the world and people will listen to it through music, or read about in in a book or poem, or look at it in a piece of art. You can express your feeling by writing a poem, a story, or a song. We also talked about doing this activity and how its important. Doing this after every class will make us listen and think more in class. We also talked about how you have to think about poetry and how the title of a poem can tell you alot about a poem.

I learned that every word in a poem is put there on purpose that the author looks for special words to put in the poem to make it have a certain sound I also learned that a writer could write for five years and still have something the change.

I daydreamed about how hungry I was and what I was going to do this weekend and what thinking about the new lost episode comming out this weekend.

I didn’t have anything I wanted to say and the only times I did I said it.

hey. I agree with you guys. We can really communicate through people with art because art can be presented in many different ways. Even though we are all different we can all connect through art.
